If you have a Skylight or other wall-mounted family calendar and want to sync your MyShiftPlanner shifts to it, it’s easy to do.

You need to have an active Pro Pack add-on or subscription, as the Device Calendar Sync feature is required to do this.

If you don’t have a Pro pack already, you can start a free 7 day trial with the app:

  1. Tap the app menu icon (top left) to show the app menu
  2. Tap Add More Features option
  3. Choose your preferred subscription (Monthly or Annual). Your first 7 days are free so you can try it and cancel within the 7 days if not what you need. After 7 days, it will convert automatically into a paid subscription paid monthly or annually.

Once you have a Pro Pack:

To sync with your calendar:
  • FIRST – make sure you’ve added the calendar you can see on your Skylight into your phone settings so it’s visible in your standard phone calendar app. This can be done through the phone Settings app > Calendars
  • NEXT within MyShiftPlanner:
    • Tap the cog (setup) icon in the top right of the app screen
    • Tap Settings
    • Tap Sync tab at the top of the settings screen
    • Turn on Copy Shifts into Phone Calendar
    • Select the app (MyShiftPlanner) calendar you want to sync out
    • Select the third party calendar you want to sync the shifts with (the one that’s visible on your Skylight calendar)
    • Change any of the other settings to suit how you want the events to appear in your third party calendar.
    • Tap GO button at the bottom of the settings screen
  • Check your phone calendar first and make sure the shifts appear in there.
  • Skylight will send you an email to approve this.
    • You need to check your email and junk mail folder for this email and follow the instructions on it.
    • If you don’t do this, the shifts won’t appear on your Skylight. Contact Skylight if you don’t receive the confirmation email.
Note: The mechanism for sync we use is the one built into your phone.
We send the shifts (or shift changes) through the phone to your calendar, so they will appear in your phone default calendar app first, then may take a few minutes to sync via the Internet to your calendar provider before it appears on your Skylight calendar.
