One of the most requested pay features from MyShiftPlanner users is finally here.

With the release of MyShiftPlanner v6.6, you can now automatically calculate overtime based on weekly and monthly overtime thresholds, helping you keep track of what you’ve earned and giving you greater confidence in your pay.

Why We Built It

Many shift workers don’t just work standard hours.

NHS staff, emergency services, care workers, manufacturing teams, aviation staff, retail workers, hospitality employees and many others regularly work additional hours that qualify for overtime payments.

The challenge is that overtime rules vary between employers.

Some organisations pay overtime after a certain number of hours each week. Others use monthly thresholds. Many employees are left trying to calculate everything manually or waiting until payday to see if the numbers look right.

We wanted to make that process easier.

Introducing Automatic Overtime Thresholds

MyShiftPlanner can now automatically monitor your worked hours and identify overtime based on rules you configure.

You can now set:

  • Weekly overtime thresholds
  • Monthly overtime thresholds
  • Existing pay rules alongside overtime calculations

Once configured, MyShiftPlanner will automatically calculate qualifying overtime hours as you build your rota and record your shifts.

No spreadsheets.
No manual calculations.
No surprises on payday.

More Confidence in Your Pay

For many users, MyShiftPlanner acts as an independent record of hours worked.

The new overtime threshold system provides an additional layer of visibility by helping you:

  • Estimate future earnings
  • Track overtime worked
  • Check payslips against your own records
  • Understand how additional shifts affect your pay

Whether you’re picking up extra shifts or working a complex rota, you’ll have a clearer picture of what your time is worth.

Enhanced Work Time Reports

Alongside overtime improvements, we’ve expanded the Work Time Reports available within MyShiftPlanner.

The updated reports provide additional breakdowns and summaries, helping you analyse:

  • Hours worked
  • Overtime hours
  • Shift patterns
  • Working time trends

These improvements make it easier than ever to understand your working life and your earnings.

A Fresh Setup Experience

Version 6.6 also introduces a refreshed onboarding experience for new users.

We’ve simplified setup, improved the flow, and introduced new options to help users get started faster while making it easier to discover the benefits of MyShiftPlanner Pro.

Built on a Stronger Foundation

Behind the scenes we’ve also made significant improvements to performance, reliability, platform support and app infrastructure.

These changes help ensure MyShiftPlanner remains fast, stable and ready for future updates.
